For those traveling by train, Tavernelle does not have an active railway station; among the usable stations in the area are Magione, Castiglione del Lago and Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, from which it is possible to continue to the main regional and national destinations.

The reference airport is the Umbria International Airport – Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi, located approximately 35 km by car, reachable in about 30–35 minutes. It is also possible to reach it by public transport via Perugia.
